It May let You Lose Weight Quickly, But is a Liquid Weight Loss Diet Effective in the Long Term?

The liquid weight loss diet is one of the diets which has been around for several years but still maintains its popularity. There are currently two different types of diets dealing solely with liquids, and each has its own pros and cons. Both types of liquid weight loss diet options offer nearly immediate results if used correctly, however, neither type should be used for long periods of time without risk of some serious side effects. In the end, the choice between a solid food diet and a liquid diet boils down to how long you wish to stay on a diet and what type of diet best fits your lifestyle so you can best follow the diet each day for maximum results.

Currently, the most popular option of the liquid weight loss diet plans is the meal replacement style. Slim Fast popularized this style by offering tasty shakes which are generally supposed to provide you with all of the nutrients of a particular meal (usually breakfast or lunch) without all of the fats and calories. So you allow yourself to eat real food for one or two meals during the day, never allowing yourself to substitute dinner for a liquid weight loss diet shake, and have the drink instead. By doing so, you will be able to lose weight quickly, in a matter of a few weeks instead of a few months. If you want to go all the way and lose a ton of weight more quickly, you should visit your doctor for a medically supervised liquid weight loss diet plan. With a plan like this, you use liquids to only take in around eight hundred calories a day so you can lose tons of weight. Your body is not designed for that kind of weight loss however, so you can only stay on such a diet for a short period of time.

An alternative to the meal substitute style of liquid weight loss diet plans is the diuretic weight loss drink. With a diuretic, you are essentially cleansing your body of any excess water you have stored away. By dumping the water in your body, you will lose weight quickly and effectively, however you will not be losing any fat or harmful molecules you would otherwise lose by eating smaller meals and exercising regularly.
